"Original" Refuge Profile Empty
PostSubject: "Original" Refuge Profile "Original" Refuge Profile EmptySat Dec 19, 2009 10:52 pm

((Okay, so it isn't actually the ORIGINAL profile... But it's the one I used for the last time we did this on TK. I'll post an updated more forum-specific rulesheet at a later time. As of now we're all vets, so I don't think it's uber importante ..... and yes, this is the entirety of the profile for the RefugeSought account, hah.))

--------------------------------------------
Refuge, A Place of Safety

Everyone wants to know they have a place where they're safe. A building, a town, or perhaps just a group of people where they're able to be simply themselves and feel right about it. But sometimes we have to seek a place where we will actually be safe, not just from everyday annoyances like bullies or parents, but from enemies who seek us out, from enemies who want us captured or dead.
This is a story about people who are trying to escape from something bigger than themselves, something that would follow them to the ends of the earth, and see them eradicated or locked away.
--------------------------------------------
The basis of this roleplay is a group of people trying to hide from a common enemy, that enemy being the government.

Refugees, as they call each other, are people trying to keep on the move so government operatives can't find them and lock them away.
Fugitives, as the feds call them, are people who have something special which the government would either want to study, destroy, or even worse; duplicate.
This puts all non-humans in harm's way, whether they be completely inhuman, halfbreeds, or just mutants.
--------------------------------------------
OOC:
Personally I'd like to keep the group not too small but not too large as well, since the founded nature of Refuge is of a moving nature, it would be hard to feasibly move an extremely large group of people around together.

Every character for this game needs to have something that would make them valuable to the government. An ability, some kind of extraplanar heritage, or perhaps just simple knowledge that would make operatives want to nab them off of the street and take them in for interrogation or study.

This IS a MODERN game, hence running from the government, and not kingdom or whatever.
NOTE:
This game is focused on the Refugees, where it would be interesting and perhaps helpful to the story to have players for Operatives, I would specifically like to keep the focus on the Refugees, no Operative Characters, please.

The Refugees travel from place to place, never staying in the same area for more than a night or two. Because of this, they don't have many personal belongings, and collectively call their possessions their "camp". They can make or break "camp" anywhere from in the middle of a forest to an upscale downtown hotel. Due to this nature, it is very possible we will often be roleplaying in different areas, (which will be defined at the beginning of a session), though the room will always be titled Refuge.

I require no specific character archetype, but I wouldn't mind if we were able to amass a good mix of non-humans, halfbreeds, and mutants.

I can't necessarily promise to be online every night, though I'll be trying to be.
To that nature, I won't require a player to be online every night, as that would be somewhat rude on my part. Also, due to the nature of the characer group itself they are not necessarily together all day everyday, though they do tend to meet up every night and stay at a central location. Just log on once or twice a week if possible, and check in with a group leader and participate. We all have lives away from our computers, I know that.
(FYI: I will be trying to log in around 10 pm central time every night to start up a session, but I may not make it every single night)

General Rules
1. Post well, we all understand having off-days, but try to keep posts over one or two sentences, it can become hard to post back.
2. Try to keep good grammar, unless it's a character trait to speak oddly, also try to spell well, just for comprehension. I won't be a hard-ass about it though.
3. As in all games, don't god mode on people, it's just unfun. Fights need to make sense; just because you're fighting a lackey and you can shoot fire doesn't mean you'll be able to one-shot him.
4. Any member can make the room, but please promote a mod upon entrance. The room is to be made with the game's name, Refuge. If any tag is to be added, I would like it to be a recruiting tab. Anyone who comes in randomly can either be addressed politely about why they're there, or left alone. If someone starts causing trouble, give them 3 warning before kicking them. If you don't feel like having lurkers around, and they don't answer to questioning about why they're present after 10 minutes, kick them.
5. Be polite, ooc at least. Please?
6. If you want to do some cybering, please go to another room.
7. Let's have fun, yes?
